National Poster Art Competition

The Links, Incorporated created the National Poster Art Competition in 1995. This national art competition traditionally has had a health focus and sought to depict healthy, energetic, and active lifestyles.

Over the years the Charlotte (NC) Chapter has worked with various student populations, including at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas, and Families Doing Time, on various art projects and entered artwork from chapter contest winners into The Links, Incorporated’s national competition.

“Connecting Threads” Quilting Circle

The “Connecting Threads” Quilting Circle is an intergenerational initiative where Charlotte (NC) Chapter members and Alumnae members meet once a month to make quilts and other handmade items.  Since its inception, chapter members have produced beautiful quilts ranging from African American influence, textile patterns, contrasting colors, and unique patterns in honor of African roots and heritage. Quilts have been donated to various local organizations including Fashion and Compassion, a Charlotte organization that works with and supports girls and women affected by human trafficking.
